Terms of participation

1. Taking part is voluntary

You are under no obligation to book an interview, to keep a booking, to answer any particular question, or to finish a call you have started. You may stop at any point without giving a reason, and nothing follows from it.

2. The interview is conducted by an AI

The interviewer is an automated system. It identifies itself as an AI at the start of every call and does not represent itself as a person. It asks your permission before recording, and if you decline, it does not record.

3. The thank-you gift card

• We send an Amazon gift card as a thank-you for a completed interview. The amount is stated in your invitation.
• It is sent by email, to the address we invited, within two business days of the completed interview.
• There is no quality bar. Short answers, "no" answers and "that is not a problem for me" answers are paid the same as any other. We do not withhold it on the basis of what you said.
• We may withhold it where an interview was not actually completed, where the same person or business takes part more than once in the same study, or where participation was obtained by impersonating someone else.
• The gift card is issued by a third party and is subject to that issuer's own terms. We are not the issuer.

4. What you tell us

You keep everything that is yours. By taking part, you give us permission to use what you say for the study you were invited to, and to pass the recording, the transcript and our analysis to the company that commissioned it. We do not publish your recording or transcript or share it more widely than that — the privacy notice sets out exactly who receives what. Do not share anything you are contractually or legally bound to keep confidential, and please do not share information about your own customers.

5. Contacting you

We contact businesses at their published business contact details to invite them to research. One unsubscribe stops everything, permanently. See the privacy notice for the detail.

6. This website

The content here is provided as is, for information about our research. We may change it. We do not promise the site will always be available or error-free.

7. No advice, no offer

Nothing on this site or said on an interview is professional, legal, financial or business advice, and nothing here is an offer to sell you anything.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability arising out of this website or your participation in an interview is limited to the value of the gift card offered for that interview. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
